Need Extra Help?
There are many resources for students to be successful in math. Our school offers free after-school tutoring. This runs every Monday through Thursday from 4-5 in the media center. There are two math teachers always available to answer questions that may arise. Students must sign into the Media Center using their student ID before 4 pm. (See "Tutoring and Testing Center" link above).
Mu Alpha Theta is the Mathematics Honor Society here at Spring Valley. The Mu Alpha Theta Honor Society is made up of students who have successfully completed Algebra 3 or higher. These students are available for free one-on-one peer tutoring sessions during lunch, study hall, or before and after school.
I will also be available for extra help by appointment only (email me). I request at least two-day notice prior to meeting with the student. If a student makes an appointment twice and does not show without letting Ms. Lavador know prior to the tutoring session, then tutoring privileges with Ms. Lavador will be forfeited. Students should come to tutoring prepared with specific questions about the content and should not expect Ms. Lavador to “re-teach” a lesson or complete all homework problems with them.
