Welcome to Chorus! I am excited to share my love of music with our students and help them discover their own musical potential. Whether you are an experienced singer or joining chorus for the first time, my goal is to create a positive, encouraging environment where every student can grow in confidence, musicianship, and teamwork. I look forward to an amazing year of making music together!
Andrea Camp is the Chorus Director at Dent Middle School. She is passionate about helping students develop a lifelong appreciation for music through singing, performance, and collaboration.
Before joining Dent Middle School, Mrs. Camp taught Elementary General Music and Middle School Band in Sumter and Charleston. Her diverse teaching background has given her experience working with students of many ages and musical abilities.
Mrs. Camp is a graduate of Lower Richland High School, where she participated in the school band and community ensembles, including the Baptist All-State Choir.
She earned a Bachelor of Music Education from Newberry College with an emphasis in Instrumental Music and Music Theory. During her time at Newberry, she performed with the College Choir, the auditioned Madrigal Singers, Wind Ensemble, Marching Band, and Concert Band.
Music has been a lifelong passion for Mrs. Camp—from singing as a young child and participating in church choirs to playing the French horn through middle school, college, and beyond. She believes every student has musical ability and that singing is one of the most personal and powerful ways to experience music. Her goal is to inspire students to become confident musicians, thoughtful leaders, and lifelong participants in the arts.
