This project entitled "Electronic Hall Effect Ignition Module" was carried out in two parts: the first was commanded by the in-depth study of the ignition system through study books in the automotive area, vehicle manuals and information on internet, the following one carries out the practice and design of a didactic bench with its corresponding components for this system, coil commanded by an ignition module that receives the signals to the distributor through a wiring harness, the signals are simulated with real data taken of automobiles, these simulated signals are those that intervene directly in the activation of the coils and in the operation of the ignition system.
The didactic bench aims to implement practical material to the automobile electricity project, as we know practice and theory must go hand in hand that is why this type of material will be of great help for the study, analysis, and research of ignition systems.
Electronic ignition systems are currently the most advanced, for this reason the practices that will be carried out in the didactic bench will be of great help since they can be tested in cars.
For this project it has been decided to make a "Hall Effect Ignition Module". It can be defined as an ignition module which usually makes use of an element called a transistor, and this what it causes is a modification in the conduction of electric current by a primary winding of it; with the convenience of being able to use a Hall type distributor and an ignition coil.
What is planned to be done is to publicize the Hall effect ignition system, through the demonstration on a didactic bench. In addition to being able to demonstrate and explain the system as such, it is also expected to be able to perform current measurements, diagnose faults, identify, explain and verify the components.
Since the project is specifically based on a Hall effect ignition module, not much relevance will be given to the other ignition systems, for example the inductive ignition system or platinum.
How can electric current, continuity, resistance, voltage and amperage be measured in our system as such and what would be the elements to which each test would be performed?
How does it work and what would work of a Hall effect ignition module?
What elements do we have in a Hall effect ignition module?
What kind of faults can be found at the time of execution of the ignition system?
How has the ignition system evolved?
Is there a difference between the Hall effect ignition module and the inductive?
What can be done when the spark does not occur?
What kind of signal do we have when we have a Hall effect distributor?
Can other types of tests be performed on the system?
This research aims to guide and explain the functioning and operation of the "Electronic Ignition Module by Hall Effect" in a didactic bench with the implementation of a Hall distributor, ignition coil and the demonstration of the spark through the spark plugs, since it is important that when the system is explained, it is demonstrated that it really works and can be visualized through the spark in the spark plug.
This topic was chosen by popular vote within the group and have issues that we have been seeing in the course of this year and improve each aspect individually and group on the subject and knowledge imparted by Professor Alexis Alberto Gamez Vasquez.
In the course of the realization of the project, it is expected to obtain the knowledge and correct and technical information about the topic itself, which would be "Electronic ignition module by Hall effect", which would be:
o What it consists of.
o Functioning and operation.
o Identification of the components and of the ignition system.
o Diagnosis to be performed.
o Failures to present.
o Current measurements.
o Its evolution.
o Type of signal (Hall Effect).
Among other knowledge and information that you will be able to observe in this report and in the expositions. With the purpose of being able to explain in detail and in a correct and technical way the knowledge imparted to the people and evaluators, with the benefit that will allow the students to be able to expand in the automotive field and thus to become excellent empirical and technical mechanics at the same time.
General Objective:
To implement a didactic bench in which it will be given to know about "Electronic Ignition Module by Hall Effect" of the automobile, which will serve as a support to the practice and learning for the students of Second Year of Automotive Maintenance.
Specific Objectives:
To use measuring equipment in electronic components and circuits and to interpret the data obtained with the multimeter.
To make a didactic bench in order to show the different components that can be found in a Hall effect ignition system.
To explain the topic "Hall effect electronic ignition module" in order to be able to perform tests, diagnostics and component identification.
