Greetings and thank you for visiting our website!

Rho Psi Omega was chartered in 1989 to extend the impact of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®, in the Charlotte metropolitan area. Over the past 35 years, Rho Psi Omega has mentored students in Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools. We have guided undergraduate members at Queens University and Johnson & Wales University and have supported the next generation of leaders by awarding thousands of dollars in college scholarships. We have bridged the health, education, and economic gap of children, families, and minorities throughout the greater Charlotte region and have done so with our signature brand of sisterhood, scholarship, and service!

Over the years, Rho Psi Omega’s membership has grown from 50 charter members to 500+ active, college-educated, committed community leaders. Additionally, in 2024, Rho Psi Omega will celebrate 35 years of service under the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® umbrella of international program initiatives. The current international program theme is “Soaring to Greater Heights of Service and Sisterhood.” As we mark this milestone anniversary, we invite you to join us in our mission to cultivate and encourage high scholastic and ethical standards; to promote unity and friendship among college women; to study and help alleviate problems concerning women and girls to improve their social stature; to maintain a progressive interest in college life; and to serve all mankind.
