Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year at RHAM Middle School! Throughout your participation in the Study Skills 8 course you will have the opportunity to do the following:
Maintain the organization of your agenda and notebook system
Improve your organizational skills and habits
Develop homework and study systems
Expand your communication and self-advocacy practices
Set goals and monitor your own progress towards those goals
Explore your learning preferences
Work on homework, projects, and long-term assignments
Study for tests and quizzes
Get help for concepts you do not understand
Enduring Understandings:
Organization is essential to success in school
Success in the content area courses is dependent upon test and quiz performance, assignment completion, and class participation
Self-awareness and self-advocacy are important tools for school success
Attentive listening, active reading, and focused writing aid learning
Class Expectations:
Students are expected to follow school rules as outlined in the student handbook. Students are also expected to:
Be prompt and prepared to learn
Follow directions
Respect others
Participate appropriately
Be productive
Accept responsibility for grades and actions
Come to class with a positive attitude
