In this course students will develop reasoning and problem solving skills as they study topics such as congruence and similarity, and apply properties of lines, triangles, quadrilaterals, and circles. Students will hone their reasoning skills through the completion of geometric proofs. They will also develop problems solving skills by using length, perimeter, area, circumference, surface area, and volume to solve real-world problems.

STUDENT RESPONSIBILITIES FOR HONORS GEOMETRY
Pre-Reading & Note Taking: To analyze new concepts, vocabulary and properties. Students will determine what they know about the topic and what questions they need answered during the lesson.
Class Lesson: Students will engage in active listening, participation, questioning and clarifying note taking.
Individual Practice: Students will actively participate in class work and homework determining questions to be asked.
Correction of Work: Students will actively participate in correction of homework, quizzes and tests to create valuable documents for studying.
Studying: Students will actively engage in studying for each lesson. Items include: vocabulary, directions, rules, definitions, properties, types of problems, etc.
Critical Thinking: Students will engage in critical thinking through Take Home Quizzes and analytical/technical writing assignments.
