Different types of robots in War
The use of robots in war was originally just an interesting science fiction movie idea but has developed into a real thing. The use of robots in war is also clearly inevitable so I wanted to spend some time researching and writing down the uses of the robots and how they will develop and affect our future.
Major Kenneth Rose of the US Army's Training and Doctrine Command has said some things about this whole topic:
“Machines don't get tired. They don't close their eyes. They don't hide under trees when it rains and they don't talk to their friends ... A human's attention to detail on guard duty drops dramatically in the first 30 minutes ... Machines know no fear.”
The Elbit Hermes 450 is a mid size multi payload unmanned aircraft. While it is entirely possible that a war plane run by A.I could be a thing but this is mostly for surveillance and recon. It includes electro-optical/infrared sensors, communications and electronic intelligence, synthetic-aperture radar/ground-moving target indication, electronic warfare, and hyperspectral sensors.
Goalkeeper CIWS is a Dutch close-in weapon system. Introduced 1979 it is a mid-short range. It is an autonomous and completely automatic weapon. It shoots at enemy detected ships Automatically. Soon we could have the entire navy fleet just run by robots.
