Self driving cars and their problems.
Self driving cars have been a phenomenon thought of since cars were first created. So much thought and study has gone into the philosophy of this moral and technical issue that If I needed to I could make a whole website dedicated to this debate but I decided to make a page of a Google site for this unending debate.
One of the main problems is if self driving cars were to be introduced into the streets all cars would have to be self driving. One mistake from a human driver would equal to so many more A.I mistakes, which would then be fatal for the many humans being driven around. Also the cost to install all these cars would be so much.
Another problem would be the cars getting hacked. If the roads have been run by robots with all the same code and then one car that was hacked breaks the code then everything else around it would be messed up. How can you make sure that a robot cannot be hacked but you still have access to the robot in question.
Another tantalising question, that you probably already heard of is if a person is being driven around in their self-driving vehicle and someone is crossing the road at a red light should the car sacrifice the driver or the pedestrian. This question can obviously go farther with different amounts of people and their ages and whether the car should sacrifice the young person breaking the law of the old driver who paid for the car.
To draw a conclusion to this topic of self-driving cars we must ask the question. How will these cars affect the future? Obviously this means that you will be able to be driven around by a robot but also what does this mean for the safety of our future. Will A.I that get to decide whether a human lives or dies ever be a thing?
