studio policy

We require each student or their representative(s) to sign a copy of our studio policy prior to beginning lessons. Below is a general summary of our policy. Actual agreement could vary slightly.

scheduling

We currently offer weekly lessons with the below lengths:

45 min
60 min

Upon request, we may also offer bi-weekly lessons or 10-lesson packages.

Please coordinate with instructor to set a fixed time for recurring lessons (weekly or bi-weekly). Scheduling is typically updated three times per year at the beginning of the following months to accommodate students’ school calendars. Provide options of desired time-slots to the instructor in advance to make scheduling changes.

For 10-lesson packages, scheduling can be flexible as long as communicated 48 hours in advance.

tuition

For weekly and biweekly lessons, tuition is paid monthly upfront based on the number of lessons for the student's assigned day in a given month. For example, if the lesson day is Tuesday and there are 4 Tuesdays in the month, then the tuition will be 4 times the lesson rate.

To reserve the student's time-slot, tuition for the entire month must be paid in full by the 5th of the month. Late payment will be subject to a penalty of $10 per student per week. The instructor reserves the right to suspend or discontinue instruction of any student who is delinquent in fulfilling his/her financial obligations at any time.

Notify the instructor in advance any planned absence so that tuition can be adjusted accordingly.

For 10-lesson packages, tuition is paid in full upfront. Lessons must be taken within 200 days after payment.

cancellation and make-up

Cancellation of a lesson must be made at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled lesson time. The instructor will make best effort to schedule a make-up lesson within the next 2 weeks. Otherwise, the lesson will be credited for the following month. No more than one (1) cancellation is allowed per month.

No-show or failure to provide proper notice will be considered a forfeited lesson. There will be no refund or make-up lesson.

Extended absence (2 lessons or more) requires one-month notice in advance.

In case the instructor needs to cancel a lesson, the instructor will either reschedule or apply the lesson credit towards the following month.

Cancellation and make-up policies apply to all types of lessons (weekly, biweekly, or 10-lesson packages).

tardy arrival

Students arriving late will not have their lesson time extended. Students arriving late by more than 15 minutes will be treated as cancellations. No refund or credit or make-up lesson will be given.

withdrawal

Should the student decide to discontinue lessons, please notify the teacher in writing one full month prior to the 1st of the month when the lessons are to discontinued.

dismissal

The teacher reserves the right to dismiss any student due to frequent absences, habitual tardiness, disciplinary problems, overdue tuition payments, and/or parental noncompliance with the policy.
