The 1:1 program has expanded to K-12 with an iPad available to support learning for every student 24/7.
Technology has been instrumental in supporting teachers through the COVID crisis, especially in the spring as we moved from fully in-person to fully-remote learning overnight.
Infrastructure improvements have bolstered the wireless network, especially in public areas. This provides more flexibility for learning in areas that have not traditionally been instructional spaces, like athletic fields, playgrounds, and parking lots.
Our instructional coaches (Joyce and Theresa) help teachers leverage technology to increase student engagement and focus on critical thinking, teamwork, communication, personalization of learning, and real world engagement.
The Innovation Team has continued to model instructional best practices with technology while supporting their peers through remote and hybrid learning models.
What our teachers our saying about technology:
"In the summer of 2020, Revere Local Schools prepared for this unconventional school year in the midst of a pandemic. Realizing the setting for students would be a mix of in-person and online students, our teachers and administrators developed a plan to meet the needs of students through our Apple technology. Using collaborative documents and shared folders, teachers prepared materials, lessons, and activities that would engage learners on and offline. The end result is that Revere Local School District is providing meaningful instruction that encourages learners to stay active in exploring academic pursuits in a safe and loving environment regardless of their connection."
-Jodi Hetman, Fourth Grade - Bath Elementary
"Before Covid, I would never have thought I could master the use of so much technology in so short a time. When crunch-time came and I myself was stuck at home in quarantine, the tech work I had already done learning how to make and post videos, combined with new skills such as managing a zoom meeting or using Google Classroom for all assignments and classroom management tasks was invaluable. Despite its limitations, which as with any tool are very real, the technology helped allow the education process to continue during the current crisis. I am grateful to have had access to it and to the support all along that has enabled me to put it to use with confidence."
-Larry Petkovsek, Latin - Revere High School
"Anticipating the disruptions of Covid and quarantine, I didn’t want students’ education to suffer if forced to learn remotely due to no fault of their own. This meant considering what would students need to succeed and spending hours creating video tutorials of the content learned in class. Future students will have access to these resources for years to come."
