We are located in San Antonio (inside the Premier High School - West building). Students living local to San Antonio can come in for tutoring. Other students in Texas are served using Google Meet.

Director

Fun Facts: I married my high school sweetheart on Valentine’s Day! We have 3 grown-up sons, all in their 20s now!

Background: I have lived in 8 cities and 4 states. I was a teacher for 17 years in 6 school districts (from Pre-K thru 6th grade). Before coming to The Success Center, I wrote state assessments, like the STAAR test!

Teaching Philosophy: I believe that all students can learn if provided with the right tools.

Piece of Advice: Just Keep Swimming! As long as you persevere, things will get better.

Native Texan who grew up in Dallas
Attended Austin College in Sherman, where she earned her B.A. in English,
History, and Phys Ed, as well as a M.A. in Education.
Attended Texas A&M Commerce for some graduate work.
Worked for several years as an administrative and legal assistant
Returned to her first love, teaching (English, World/US/European History)
Retired after 30 years of service
Desires to help students graduate and succeed in life

About Me:

I am originally from El Paso. I have lived in San Antonio for twenty-eight years. I taught in El Paso and San Antonio for seventeen years. I taught middle school math for fifteen years and elementary for two years.

I have three grown children ages 36, 27, and 23. They are the light of my life.

My philosophy:

If I can learn it, you can too. I struggled with school, math in particular, so I know what it feels like to not understand a subject. I taught myself the ability to overcome and do well in school. I will help you to learn and know how to learn. I am dedicated to helping my students understand the lessons. I don’t care how long it takes or how many times I have to explain it.

We also tutor in SCIENCE (*indicates a STAAR-tested subject)
