There are two primary paths that students can pursue to enter the US military: enlisting and joining as a commissioned officer. Students who choose to enlist work with a military recruiter to complete the enlistment process.
This process includes fitness, medical, and academic testing. There are several benefits associated with military enlistment; students can receive money for college, health care, vacation time, and more.
Note: Before entering the military, students should determine whether they want to enlist or become an officer. Although enlisted service members can eventually become officers, students may have better options if they pursue an officer career path, including admission to one of the five military academies.
