What is Dual Credit?
Dual Credit refers to the ability for a qualified high school student to take college-level classes at a local community college to earn credit that counts for high school and college course completion.
Basic Facts:
Tuition for Dual Credit students is free for up to 12 college courses.
Textbook and other class fees are the responsibility of the student.
Classes are available online, at a college campus, or on a high school campus (if applicable).

What classes can I take?
Below you will see a spreadsheet showing the possible classes a student can take for Dual Credit with Austin Community College, as well as the high school class the course will count as. Depending on the ACC course students might be required to meet TSI in Reading, Writing, and Math in order to take certain classes.
How do I enroll in a Dual Credit class?
All students NEW to dual credit MUST first complete these prereqs to start the ACC enrollment process.
1) Watch the Intro to Dual Credit Video or attend a scheduled Intro to Dual Credit Information Session at their campus.
2) Review the Premier HS Dual Credit Guidelines
Once a student has completed the above items then they can start on the ACC enrollment steps:
(If you are a Returning Dual Credit Student, skip down to step 6.)
Within 24hrs (excluding weekends/holidays) you will receive a confirmation e-mail at the address provided on the application containing your ACCeID.
Student will use their ACC eID and password regularly. They are also REQUIRED to have an ACC gmail account that they check regularly
Return this contract to your school Dual Credit Advisor if you are NEW to dual credit. Not sure who your school's Advisor is? Check here.
Do not do this until you have received your ACC eID number. You will be asked to login and complete an assessment at the end.
You may be exempt from TSI based on test scores.
STAAR EOC Eng 2 4000+ / STAAR EOC Alg 1 4000+ plus a 70% in Alg 2
PSAT: EBRW-460+ / Math-510+
SAT: EBRW-480+ / Math-530+,
ACT: (administered on or after February 15, 2023) A combined score of 40 on the English and Reading (E+R) tests shall be exempt for both reading and writing or ELAR sections of the TSI Assessment. A score of 22 on the mathematics test shall be exempt for the mathematics section of the TSI Assessment. There is no composite score.
New and Returning Dual Credit students will need to meet with a Premier Dual Credit Advisor to review their eligibility for courses and have their dual credit plan approved before students can register for classes.
Once your Dual Credit plan has been approved, you will be able to register for your classes in the ACC Self-Service portal. Tuition is covered by the school, however you will assume the financial costs of the required textbook and material fees.
