Getting Started
Once you have read through the pages of my website and decide you would like to work with me, the first step is to reach out to me. You will receive a response within 1-3 business days to let you know my current availability. If I have current openings, I will work with you to schedule a connect call.
Next, schedule a connect call...
I offer a free 20 minute connect call via Zoom to have the opportunity to see if we will be a good fit for each other. During this time, I will be asking questions to get a feel for what you are looking for, seeing how out personalities interact and assessing if I feel I have the skills and availability to help.
This is also an opportunity for you to interview me! Ask me anything-truly. I encourage potential clients to come to the connect call with questions that would allow you to determine if you feel I will be able to help you. Therapist's are not one-size fits all.
Once we have scheduled the connect call, I will send you a brief electronic questionnaire to get some information about you to help me prepare for our call so we can best utilize our time together to connect.
After the connect call, I will reach back out to you within 1 week to let you know what I may be able to offer to support you.
If we decide to work together, we will schedule your first appointment, discuss the intake process, review your investment information and answer any additional questions you may have before beginning.
Then, some easy to complete electronic intake paperwork...
Once we have scheduled our initial appointment, you will receive an email with an invite to create an account through the therapy portal with Therapy Notes (the system I utilize for scheduling, billing and records). Once you create an account, you will have access to the intake paperwork that will all be able to be completed electronically. I require that paperwork be completed at least 24 hours prior to your first appointment to give me time to review your information and prepare for our time together.
Finally, your first appointment.
The first appointment or "intake" is a 90-minute session where we will take time to dive in (as much or as little as you would like) to what it is that brought you to therapy, how it is impacting you in the present and begin to identify your goals and hopes for the future. We will also explore and decide together the frequency of sessions that best matches your individual needs and preferences. If you are utilizing insurance, we will work together to identify a preliminary diagnosis during the first appointment to access insurance benefits.
My hope is for clients to leave the first appointment with a sense of connection, safety and hope.
Attending one session is not a commitment to the entire therapy process with me- should our first session not feel like a fit for you- let me know! I will be happy to help you transition to a better fit. I am all about making sure that clients know that whether it is with me, or elsewhere, I am here to support you in finding a therapeutic connection that is right for you.
