Taking place on September 17, 2026, in Irvine, California, the 2026 ELL Healthcare Pathways Statewide Convening is for grantees from Rounds One, Two, and Three of the ELL Healthcare Pathways program. It will bring together program leaders, administrators, instructors, counselors, and staff from across the state’s ELL Healthcare Pathways initiatives.
Hosted by the California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office in partnership with the International Rescue Committee (IRC) and WestEd, this inaugural convening will highlight the impact of grantee work, foster collaboration, and share actionable strategies to strengthen and sustain programs. Participants will engage in peer learning, explore innovative approaches, and advance efforts to build a more diverse, culturally competent healthcare workforce while addressing critical care provider shortages in California.
This event is intended for grantees to leave with practical strategies, peer insights, and a clear framework to strengthen, sustain, and scale culturally responsive healthcare pathways programs that drive meaningful workforce outcomes and impact.
Cost: This event is sponsored by the California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office. There is no cost to participants to register.

California State leaders will provide attendees with timely updates on adult education, offering an overview of current priorities, policy developments, and program initiatives across the state. This session will highlight key efforts to strengthen adult learning systems, improve access, and align education with workforce needs.
Participants will gain a clearer understanding of the direction of adult education in California, along with practical insights to support implementation and collaboration at the local level.

Implementing and leveraging Accelerated Learning Models.
Practical strategies and tools for developing culturally and linguistically responsive healthcare pathways programming.

ELL HP 101: An overview of program requirements and reporting.

The ELL Healthcare Pathways Statewide Convening is the first statewide event designed specifically for ELL Healthcare Pathways grantees.
