Trauma can take many forms, abuse, neglect, sexual trauma and many more events or a set of circumstances. When experienced by an individual these events can be physically or emotionally harmful. Our brains can get stuck in these moments, causing lasting adverse effects on functioning and the physical, social, emotional, and spiritual well being of a person.
Therapy can help process these events, and process the impacts they have had on our lives. Our provider is trauma informed, and EMDRIA Certified in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) Therapy, a therapeutic technique shown to have good success in reprocessing past events. An EMDRIA Certified Therapist™ has voluntarily met standards of consultation, clinical practice, and continuing education to provide EMDR therapy. An EMDRIA Certified Therapist™ is committed to fulfill ethical standards and is engaged in continuing education. To maintain this certification, a therapist must continue to satisfy the EMDRIA requirement including completion of continuing education requirements and adherence to ethical standards.
