Virtual Geo-Investigations

Western U.P. Examples

What are Virtual Geo-investigations?

Virtual Geo-investigations are teacher and student developed explorations of important geosites in the Western Upper Peninsula that highlight local history and science topics such as natural hazards. The virtual field explorations facilitate student experiences that use 360°camera and geospatial technologies in a meaningful way while deepening students sense of place through connections to geo-significant sites and phenomena in their communities.
