This half term, our class novel is Fantastic Mr Fox by Roald Dahl.
In our writing lessons, we are continuing to focus on constructing sentences and structuring a narrative in preparation for writing our own stories.
Using our sentence stacking and 'hold a sentence' strategies, we are developing our writing through a range of techniques.
This half term, 2F are using our multiplication facts to support our learning of division.
Our next unit is shape.
In Science, we are learning about materials and their properties.
We will :
● Identify & compare the suitability of everyday materials for different uses
● Explain how the shapes of solid objects made from some materials can be changed by squashing, bending, twisting & stretching
In History, we are learning about Amelia Earhart and Neil Armstrong.
In RE, we are learning about Friendship.

In DT, we are learning about cooking and nutrition.

Robot Algorithms and Pictograms
We will:
● Know that a series of instructions is a sequence and can be issued before enacted.

In Music, we are completing the unit 'Musical Me'.

This half term, 2F are learning various methods to add and subtract 2-digit numbers. Next, we will be introduced to multiplication.

Habitats/Plants - Sculpture/Printing
In Art & Design, 2F will explore the work of Andy Goldsworthy and use natural materials to develop skills in observational drawings and group sculpture. The children will also study the work of Henri Matisse to inspire their printing techniques to clay sculptures.
In this unit, we will learn about digital photography.
In Music, we are learning about orchestral instruments and traditional western stories.

In English, we are learning about writing to entertain, We will be writing a traditional tale (with a twist), focusing on constructing simple sentences with capital letters at the beginning and full stops at the end.
In Maths, we are looking at the numbers 10 to 100 and calculations within 20.
In Science, we are learning about living things and their habitats.
We will:
Know the terms 'living', 'non-living' and 'dead'
Know how habitats vary and how specific animals and plants are suited to specific ones
