How to Run a "Day in the Life" Event:
Once you are trained as a "Day in the Life" educator, you can participate in our annual "Day in the Life of the NRLE Watershed" event on the first Thursday in October or borrow the materials to run the event when it fits best in your curriculum plan.
Note: We have two equipment bin options. The DITL 1.0 Bins contain simple tests most appropriate for 4th-7th grades. The DITL 2.0 Bins contain more advanced equipment for grades 7-12 students. You can review the equipment in the Educators Guide or the activity videos, which are linked below.
Would you like to lead a "Day in the Life Event" with Reinstein Woods staff on another date? Contact us at teachered@reinsteinwoods.org.
The DITL Educator Guide contains links to background information on the NRLE Watershed, planning tools and event resources for the DITL field trip, links and ideas for data analysis and sharing, and stewardship project ideas.
The full resource folder contains:
Event materials (activity instructions, student data sheets, etc.)
Classroom activities and presentations
Annual event summary reports and data
