What is TIA?
The Teacher Incentive Allotment video from the Texas Education Agency (TEA) provides a clear overview of Texas’s Teacher Incentive Allotment program, a state initiative created under House Bill 3 (HB 3) to help recruit, retain, and reward highly effective educators. The video explains the purpose and structure of TIA, highlights the different teacher designation levels (such as Recognized, Exemplary, and Master), and outlines how designated teachers generate additional funding for their districts. It’s designed to help educators and district leaders understand how the allotment works and how local systems can support teacher excellence statewide.
