Where to bring a Chromebook needing repair?

The issues described below, on the other hand, may be solvable on your own!

Frequently Reported Issues:

"My Chromebook won't turn on"

If your device is having trouble turning on, the First step to resolving this issue would be to ensure that the device is fully charged. Plug it in using your given charger and you should see an ORANGE light if it's charging or a WHITE one if it's fully charged. If it fails to turn on after a minute or so, you can also try what is called a Hard Reset, by holding down the Refresh button and pressing power (Arrow loop button = refresh). If the device is still refusing to turn on, there may be an issue with the device or charger. In this scenario, please fill out a support request form HERE, and drop off your device for us to repair.

Camera/Microphone not being detected?

For this issue, this can be related to a permission setting for the site you're trying to use. To find out if the camera or microphone permission has been disabled on accident. Simply click on the lock iconđź”’ on the left side of the URL bar. If there are no hardware issues, you should see a toggle to enable camera and/or microphone access for that site. Once it's been enabled, simply reload the site and you should no longer have any issues. However, if this toggle isn't visible, or enabling it didn't resolve your issue, there may be a legitimate hardware issue. If this is the case, please fill out a ticket HERE, and leave us your device.

"My Chromebook isn't charging"

In this case, this could either be an issue with the charger itself, or one of two parts inside the computer (battery or port). If you don't see a light when plugging in your charger, that's the first sign there's an issue. We recommend trying a different charger just to see if a light comes on for that one. If it does, this means there is a problem with your charger, and it should be replaced. If it didn't show a light for either charger, this means the issue resides in the computer's hardware. Regardless, please fill in a ticket for this issue HERE, and leave your device or charger for us to collect.
