What you should prepare for your audition:
A song - any song really! It doesn't have to be long, but enough that it can showcase your voice
Know the characters. Have you looked at the character page yet? Do it! Find some characters you relate to know and be prepared to talk about why you think you'd do great in that role.
Do you need to memorize any dance moves:
Not this year! But feel free to show off some cool moves if you have some ready!
What should I wear?
Whatever makes you comfy. If you want to showcase your dance moves, then something you can wear something you can move in.
You may be asked to do some line reading. You will be able to look at a page or two of the script and may ask you to act out some of the lines. Have fun with it and bring those characters to life!
How long will they take?
Auditions should take between 5 and 10 minutes. Super quick!
Can I bring a friend?
You can have a friend come in a listen to your audition. Sometimes it is easier to sing with someone.
If you would like a lead role, you will need to sing by yourself at some point during your audition.
When will the cast list be posted?
The cast list will be posted at the following locations by Thursday, June 10th:
On our websites home page
At the Elementary School office windows
At the Jr/Sr High School office windows
What if I only want to work "backstage" - do I need to audition?
No. While you don't have to audition like our actors, you can still come down and chat. You will not need to sing or read lines, but instead, the directors will talk to you about what you feel comfortable doing and expectations for this summer's show.
