YEAR 9

Year 9 is the time when you take your first steps in shaping your future direction by picking your GCSE options.  You should also consider that by the time you start to apply for your first job, over half the jobs that you will be able to choose from, do not even exist yet. Other traditional jobs will have disappeared!

- Train to become a web shop designer/manager.

- Train to become a Robot programmer.

- Train to become a drone flight manager

You need to plan for a fast changing future with lots of exciting opportunities. Therefore, you need to be flexible and adaptable.

Your Next Steps Planning for Your Future

Choosing your options

It is really important that you think carefully about the options you pick in Year 9 as the direction you choose will start to shape the career pathway that you will follow.  Have a look here at the options presentation you were shown in lessons .  You could also sign up to Career Pilot and take a look at their Options website.  You could also start to look a bit further ahead at some of the options after your GCSEs - there is some information here.

Jobs of the future

It is really important to remember that the job you might end up doing may not exist yet!  This is esepcially true as robots and AI start to take over a lot of the jobs that in the past, humans would have done.  Click here to watch a short video all about 'The changing world'here  or here to look at some suggestions for what jobs of the future might be like.
