Broadcast Staff

Enisa Meneses, an eighth grader who has been with the team for two years, is a head producer on Moore's broadcast system.  Enisa has an interest in find unique and local events, businesses, or people she can bring more people across the school to discovering.  She also loves creating stories and learning about new cinematography techniques she can use.  A fun fact about her, she has been one of Redlands' own circus performers for eight years at the YMCA.

I am in 7th grade and my name is Sarai Simmons. I have been with Journalism for two years including this year.  I joined the club in 6th grade to act as an anchor. Now I help to edit, direct, and produce the broadcast.  A fun fact about me is that I began skiing in sixth grade and have joined the ski club this year.

Esteban Gonzalez is an eighth grader with 2 years of experience in ADS. He is a jack of all trades and does most of the jobs that are to be done in the studio. He is addicted to Fallout and is intrigued by locomotives of all kinds.

Becca Leiter is an 8th grader in Moore Middle School and enjoys working behind the camera and editing. She has been in Advanced Digital Storytelling at Moore Middle School for two years. She loves working with cameras whether its taking video or pictures. She used to be right handed but broke her arm and turned left handed. 

Alexander Davis, known as Alex for short, is an 8th grader with no prior experience in journalism or the things required to be in journalism. "I was drawn to it, mostly from the things I could learn from journalism and the connections I could make or strengthen by doing it." He prefers to work behind the scenes in editing and managing the studio, which consists of the framing of the subject, microphone/audio checks, and how the overall video looks, to name a few. As a hobby, he enjoys playing the ukulele and guitar. He also enjoys listening to music and aspires to make his own.

I am Nikolas Brown, a piano and soccer player! I have some experience with editing from self-edits earlier on. The editing process and showing your products to the school is what drawn me in to this journalism class. I have two dogs, a German Shepherd and Golden Doodle mix, who are both loved equality!  

Ruby Romero is in 8th grade and started journalism this year. She was drawn to journalism because it was an opportunity to learn more about storytelling. A fun fact about her is that she plays softball. 

Izzy or Israel Pineda works for the Monarch Post. He is the one usually making the scripts for his feature stories and the one that is in the corner recording B-Roll at an event. He was drawn to this class by his friends bribing him with 5 dollars and since then, improved in most of the skills needed. He is 2 dogs and needs glasses because his eyesight is actually a dumpster fire. 

My name is Noah Stanfield Olcott, and I am a 7th grader here at Moore. I was in the club last year and it is my first year in this elective. I've always been interested in journalism, I like to read newspapers and in 5th grade I even made my own school newspaper. One fun fact about me is that I play soccer. 

My name is Angelina DeBellis. I've done journalism at Moore middle school for 2 years now and am good with cameras and filming. What drew me to journalism is that i love to tell stories and use cameras, make little movies etc, so when i heard that there was a class i could do it in, i thought it'd be a great elective for me to do. Lastly, a fun fact about me is that Timothee Chalamet and I are actually married.  

Owen Miller

Evelyn Beaver is in 7th grade at Moore Middle School. This is her first year taking part in student journalism. She has enjoyed taking photos and interviewing people, and creating videos to submit to contests. Despite being to numerous National Parks all over America, she has never flown on a plane. 

Alex Cha

My name is Matthew Pitts, my job is too mainly do editing, camera work, and acting. I was brought to this staff since I wanted to learn how to film and write scripts. My fun fact is that I am in fact British.

Destinee Mendez is a 7th grade student. She has experience with video making as she took an interest in making and filming videos when she was quite young. She has been in journalism only this year. A fun fact about her is that she likes hockey and her favorite team is the ducks.

Julio Murillo is a 7th grader with minimal prior experience. He was drawn to join the class due to the last year's broadcasts. He mainly works on editing jobs, and a fun fact is that he loves chihuahuas. 

Naomi Pham is a 7th grader with two years of experience in Digital Storytelling. She mostly directs, reports, and edits for the post. One fun fact about her is that she participates in the local circus, and has been doing so for two years. 

Pressley Chapman is an 8th grader at Moore Middle school and it is her first year at Moore. She has been in the Advanced Digital Storytelling class for a year. She also enjoys crocheting in her free time. 

 Geovanny Ortiz is an eighth grader. He has a twin and loves his cats and dogs. His experience with journalism is very small because his friends told him to join  this class. A fun fact about him is that he met jack black eye to eye and gave him a hug. 

Andrik Ivan Jimenez, He is in 8th grade. His job is to work on feature story’s. His interest are edited and recording videos. He is in this staff because he wanted to practice on journalism. Andrik is a little bit of a writer. In 7th grade he started writing a story, and know he has written three other story’s as the year went by.

I am Landon van loo and im in 7th grade. I have mild experince with   this feild but i am drawn to journalism becuase i like to edit and work with people. a fun fact about me is that i love to go mountain biking. 

My name is Landon Schumacher and i am in 7th grade. I like to play video games with my sisters, parents and friends. I joind ADS because I am good with tech and I enjoy working with Mr Simmmons for the weekly broadcast. 

Mateo Martinez is in the seventh grade. He often works at editing or camera operating. He enjoys this class and learning about how to work as a team and broadcasting. He came to this to experience excited to learn something new and to work with friends. He most enjoys how active the class is when moving around to film or collaborate.

Cooper Grimm is a student at Moore Middle School. He enjoys hanging out with his friends and playing video games with them. He joined the Post because he wanted to get better with technology, and to make some new friends. Cooper's role in the post is a cameraman and an editor if needed. Cooper loves to spray paint for fun, making pictures for his friends.

James Bauer is a seventh grader. He wants to pursue video making for making skits and stories. His role in the Monarch post is mostly as an editor or producer which means he edits the videos to look nice and to look over the crew and see if they are working and in order. His experience with this field is that he used to record videos and try and edit them and he used to take photographs with cameras and he wants to get better at editing and video making. A fun fact about James is that he loves the game Delta Rune and has plushies and other merchandise. In his words, "The collection must grow!"

Kaiden is an editor of sorts he will shoot some shots but mostly he will edit things. He has an experience in some things he once had a YouTube channel and joined the ELOP  last year for digital storytelling. What brought him to this staff was last year there was an after school program for Digital storytelling and he liked being there and doing the stuff he did and he just stuck around. A fun fact about Kaiden he likes to draw a lot and has fun making all sorts of drawings.

Kahlen Movaghar

Kevin Simmons is in his eighteenth year of teaching. Most of those years were spent teaching English. However, five years ago his was asked to begin developing a digital storytelling and media program at Moore Middle School. The Advanced class has been creating broadcasts for two years now. He enjoys the project based learning approach that the class requires. When creating content himself, he most enjoys working with audio.
