Brian is a staunch advocate for the civil and human rights of minority populations with primary interests in offering support to the incarcerated, post-incarcerated, unhoused, and substance using populations. His vision is to convert a majority of US prison facilities into residential treatment opportunities for those in need and who are willing to change. Additionally, he is aggressively pursuing the criminalization of private corporate ownership of the global prison industrial complex among other activism efforts rooted in United States civil law.
Mr. Stengel graduated from Western New Mexico University, magna cum laude, with a bachelor's degree dual majoring in both Psychology and Chemical Dependency Counseling while minoring in Pre-law. He is a New Mexico Board Licensed Substance Abuse Associate, a Certified Peer Support Worker, and certified in Mental Health First Aid. Additionally he has gone on to become a Community Support Worker trained in CCSS, a Department of Health trained harm reduction specialist with additional training in HIV/HCV and Syphilis testing and counseling. He brings with him over thirty years of lived experiences across the country from Boston to Honolulu and back to New Mexico.

We are seeking visionary leaders who can help shape the direction of our organization, provide strategic guidance, and foster innovation in our mission to address the complex challenges of homelessness.
