Dear Parents,

I am excited to be working with your child in math this year! We will be using the My Math curriculum from McGraw-Hill for 2nd grade. We will typically be going over a lesson daily, with occasional review days. We will have a test at the end of every chapter, but I will always do a review before the test and send the students home with something to study. We will be using class time to complete homework assignments in an effort to not send too much work home, but if your child does not use their time wisely, they may need to bring home an assignment to complete for their grade. I strongly recommend that your child practice their math fast facts daily (single-digit addition and subtraction), whether that is through flash cards, worksheets, or apps. This will help them tremendously once we start moving into more complicated math.
