How to Make Your Project Green

WHS is a Green Ribbon School.  Here are some ways you can support our green initiatives during the science fair:

• Choose a project that is focused on preservation or conservation.  Some projects may include global warming, endangered species, soil pollution, water quality, growing plants, sustainability, and more.

• Use recycled materials for the experiment or display.

• Make your project board from recycled cardboard boxes (or use the back of a previous project board). 

• Go digital to eliminate paper waste by using a device instead of a project board.  If you choose this option, please note that there will not be outlets, extension cords, or power strips to charge your devices. 

• Work with a sibling or friend so that they could get all the learning from half the materials used per child.

If each child participating in the fair uses even one suggestion from this list, we are going a long way to making our Science Fair a Green Fair!
