Welcome Letter

August 2025

Dear First Grader,

Welcome to the First Grade Fairy Tale Kingdom in room 117! I am looking forward to meeting you and making new friends this year. I’m your teacher at Three Bridges School, Mrs. Tomson. We are going to have so much fun learning new things in first grade.

This will be my fifteenth year teaching. I have taught both kindergarten and first grade. I live with my husband and three daughters in Hillsborough. My twins will be starting high school this year,  and my oldest just graduated from law school.  

In addition to my Masters of Arts in Teaching, with a specialization in Elementary Education from The College of New Jersey, I have a Post-Master’s Certificate in Special Education from Rutgers University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Rider University.

Our classroom is filled with books to read and supplies for writing books. You can look forward to learning many new things and having a lot of fun doing it. Your first day of First Grade is a very special day. I hope you are as excited to start the new school year as I am. Enjoy the rest of your summer vacation. I am really looking forward to spending time with you this academic year!
