Our Habitat for Humanity Club has been busy with both fundraising and hands-on service. Thanks to the dedication and generosity of our members and supporters, the club raised funds through several successful efforts, including a Chipotle fundraiser organized by club Treasurer Ben Goldlust, which brought in $174.11, and a Savers Closet Cleanout organized by club President Jason Walsh, which raised $140.92.
Club President Jason Walsh worked diligently with the Savers representative to spread the word and collect gently used clothing and household items, helping to keep usable items out of landfills. Members collected over 1,000 pounds of donations, then sorted, hauled, packed, and unloaded every item themselves. They accomplished all of this on the coldest day so far this season, demonstrating true commitment, teamwork, and resilience.
In addition to fundraising, Club President Jason Walsh applied for and received a $500 grant from the Reading Coalition for Prevention & Support to help offset the rising costs of the Habitat for Humanity service trip to North Carolina in July.
We are incredibly proud of our Habitat for Humanity Club members for their hard work, generosity, and willingness to serve—even in challenging conditions. Their efforts are making a real and lasting impact in our community.
There’ll be more restaurant fundraisers to come so that dollars spent dining out can go further than just our food and can contribute towards the club’s community efforts with Habitat for Humanity
