Effective Tracking and Monitoring procedures include:
Regular Data Collection
Throughout the academic year, staff collect data at multiple points, such as termly assessments. This includes academic performance, attendance, behaviour, and wellbeing.
Data Analysis and Interpretation
Staff analyse the collected data to identify trends, strengths, and areas needing improvement. This helps them to be responsive to the learning needs of their learners and allows for the adaptation of teaching strategies and interventions. This allows for the needs of all learners to be met.
Intervention Planning
Based on the data analysis, staff develop targeted interventions for learners who need additional support. The effectiveness of these interventions should be continuously monitored and adjusted as necessary.
Over the last few years in Renfrewshire, our data team have supported schools to develop their own bespoke range of systems and processes for effectively tracking and monitoring learners’ progress.
In the early years, the Early Years Progression Toolkit is used by all establishments to track and monitor our youngest children’s progress.
