RDS Continuum of Learners

As we move further into the 2020-2021 academic year, we anticipate a variety of scenarios that may result in student absences; RDS is committed to supporting the learning and growth of all our students this year. Please see the continuum of learners listed below, along with the levels of support available in each case.

In-person, On-campus Learning:

  • Students attend classes daily on-campus at RDS

  • Asynchronous access to Learning Management Systems (Seesaw for JK-Grade 4; Hapara Workspace for Grades 4-8)

Short-term Remote Learning:

  • Self-selected isolation at home due to Covid-19 concerns (i.e. unable to clear daily screening check)

  • Daily Remote Learning Guidelines available on our Continuity of Learning Portal

  • Access to Classroom Livestreams

  • Asynchronous access to Learning Management Systems (Seesaw for JK-Grade 4; Hapara Workspace for Grades 4-8) in support of live lessons

Ongoing Remote Learning:

  • Self-selected isolation at home due to Covid-19 concerns

  • Two or more weeks absent from in-person, on-campus learning

  • Daily Remote Learning Guidelines available on our Continuity of Learning Portal

  • Access to Classroom Livestreams

  • Asynchronous access to Learning Management Systems (Seesaw for JK-Grade 4; Hapara Workspace for Grades 4-8) in support of live lessons

  • Access to twice-weekly Teacher Office Hours

Planned Absences Unrelated to Covid-19 Concerns:

*** Please note that, in the event of any planned absence not related to Covid-19 concerns, students will not have access to Classroom Livestreams or twice-weekly teacher office hours; however, these students may choose to asynchronously access the Remote Learning Guidelines and the Learning Management Systems through our Continuity of Learning Portal. Should a student require any assistance or clarification regarding material missed, please reach out to our faculty members by email.
