Principal’s Message
Hello Central Cyclone families!
Welcome to Central Middle School. I am very pleased to be the principal of Central for the 2025-26 school year! Myself, Mr. Henry and Ms. Phillips are excited about the opportunities that this coming year will bring, including academics, athletics, art & music, as well as clubs. You will find middle school to be an exciting and dynamic environment that offers something for everyone who attends our school. We are proud of all of the different options, classes and clubs available to the students at CMS.
Central is a dedicated middle school that houses Grade 6, 7 & 8. CMS offers English as well as French Immersion, Late French Immersion, and we are the designated school for many English Language Learners. We also offer Sports Academy. Our community population is diverse and students attend from all around the City of Red Deer. Our student population this year is approximately 600.
We also offer a comprehensive intervention program that supports students’ literacy and numeracy development as needed.
At Central, we also have two Student Support Rooms with full time staff to help our students as needed.
Please take time to keep up on our school communications. These are available in the following forms:
The Central Middle School website is full of great information and we would ask that you check the website often for news and updates: https://central.rdpsd.ab.ca/
We use School Messenger on a regular basis to send important and timely information to parents.
Please be sure to read our weekly newsletter, the "Cyclone Scope." All Central families will receive a weekly email on Sundays with the newsletter attached. This is our primary mode of communicating important announcements and event information to parents and we hope you stay updated on what's going on in our school.
Follow our school Instagram account, @cmscyclones
Our staff is available by their school email and by phone.
We are excited to begin a new school year, and we look forward to seeing you all around our school!
Sincerely,
