EL Level 1 I & II (9-12)

This course was created to support students in increasing their English literacy skills through word decoding. The course focuses on enhancing student understanding around letter sounds, blended sounds, cognates, and vowel sounds. The goal is to help students prepare for real world text that they may encounter during their time in and outside of school. 

EL Level 2 I & II (9-12)

1022/1023 

Students are introduced to the language and concepts of literature and grammar. They develop academic language skills; reading, writing, speaking, and listening. Students develop academic language skills in preparation for co-taught and core content courses.

EL Biology I & II

Students will use their science skills of: observation, science drawing, recording notes, identification (using books or apps), asking questions, collecting data, using field techniques, as well as learning the process of experiment design so that students can replicate the process and communicate their findings from the scientific process to peers.

This is an English language supported Biology class.

EL Guided Study I & II (9-12)

Students are supported as they learn and apply organization and study skills. They participate in collaborative learning, and develop routines related to learning and academic success.

EL Pre-Algebra I & II (9-12) 4600/4601 

Students develop the foundational skills needed to be successful in HS Algebra and Geometry. This year long course places a strong emphasis on the continued study of integers, order of operations, variables, expressions, and equations. Students will solve and graph equations and inequalities, and explore geometry, statistics, and graph concepts. 

ELL Geography

2002/2003

ELL Geography is an introductory social studies course for Level 1 and 2 English language learners. Units of study are based on the Minnesota State Social Studies Standards. Students study topics such as human migration, population growth, consumption patterns in the United States, and land use conflict in the Amazon basin. This course satisfies one of the seven social studies credits required for graduation. 

ELL Government

ELL Government is a one semester social studies course geared towards ELL Level 2 students and more advanced Level 1 students. Units of study are based on the Minnesota State Social Studies Standards. Topics include different forms of government, government systems, the foundations of the U.S. government and The Constitution. This course satisfies one of the seven social studies credits required for graduation. 

ELL Economics

ELL Economics is a one semester social studies course geared towards ELL Level 2 students and some advanced Level 1 students. Units of study are based on the Minnesota State Social Studies Standards. Topics include basic economic concepts such as scarcity, economic systems, how markets work, business, and money management. This course satisfies one of the seven social studies credits required for graduation.
