The icon on the left links to the website and is a useful tool for both parents and students. You can make sure the book your child chooses is actually an A.R. book. You can also find out more about the book: reading level, interest level, page count, and basic gist of the story. It also tells if there is any content of concern. Interest level, maturity level, and reading level can range greatly. Please, help your child choose an appropriate book for both content and success in reading.
Students will need to read A.R. each trimester. I will send out the information for each trimester to parents when the reading and project are assigned. I always record the highest test score, so they are encouraged to read more than one book per trimester. You can always reach out to me with any questions.
Saint Genesius is the Literature Classroom Saint. He is the patron saint of actors, clowns, comedians, musicians, lawyers, and those with epilepsy. I was drawn to Saint Genesius because I have a theatre background, direct the yearly school play, and teach dramas within the literature classroom. Bringing the aspects of Saint Genesius into the classroom helps us enjoy life and respect our individual roles.
