When reading with your child use the following strategies:
When reading with your child use the following strategies:
- Take a Picture Walk: Look through each page and have your child tell you what is happening in the illustrations.
- Next, when you read to your child stop in part of the story to ask them to make a prediction, or a guess about what will happen next in the story.
- When you get to the end, discuss if the prediction or guess was right.
- Finally, when done reading ask:
WHO are the characters in the story? (Characters are the people or animals that do the talking in the story)

WHAT happened in the conclusion (ending of the story)?
