As with all sports, not everyone can make the team. Racing teams started with 3 marbles and had tryouts, measuring the mass, speed, diameter and density of their racers. Below are some of the letters they wrote to the marble that had to be cut from the team.
Dear Billy Jones The Marble,
We got some bad news to tell you.... you did not make the team, sorryy.
Billy, You were so close to joining the team, but your score was 5.6/ms compared to the others that tried out. Your speed was the lowest (5.8 m/s ) whereas the other members had higher speeds. Billy, you tried your best. Your speed isn't bad it's just that it wasn't the requirement that we were looking for. I hope you practice so you'll get better and make the team the next time there's a tryout.
Your speed was the slowest and we need faster marbles. Your combined score was 5.8 m/s compared to the 2 other marbles that tried out with you. I am HONORED that you tried out and tried your best and you have the capabilities to be a runner.
Thanks, and best of wishes.
Dear Peter,
You are a very excellent marble, you deserve to be in a team, and you are very fast and give it your all. You deserve to be in a team, but unfortunately
not in this team. I know you wanted to be in this team just like every other. Like I said before you are very fast and that you give it your all for this team. You have been cut from this team, I am so sorry, Peter.
Your diameter was 16cm, and your mass was 6.7g, and your average time on both activities were higher than the other two. Your diameter and mass was not what we were looking for, we need it to fit the rules. All you needed to make this team was your diameter and mass, but you are perfectly fine with everything else.
For the reasons of this, your diameter was more bigger than the others and we need smaller diameter. Your mass went over the limit and is higher than the others and that isn't want we are looking for. Your speed was the best of all, you are really fast, faster than how the others are. In that case we would have picked you if you had the perfect diameter and mass.
I hope you find an amazing future team!

Dear Aqua,
I am writing this letter to inform you that you have been cut from our team, effective February 11, 2021.
After the tryouts we have unfortunately found out that you were the slowest marble with an average time of 1.44, a mass of 5.6, and a density of 2.1. These qualities are not bad, but for this particular race we have felt that you are not the best fit for our team. We felt you were not a good fit because we need large, fast marbles that can pick up speed easily while racing. Do not be discouraged, you were not our last pick by much. It was a close call. Your diameter was the exact same as one of the other marbles and almost had the most mass out of all the marbles.
We are very sorry that we had to cut you, but we are holding another set of try outs next year and would love to see you there! You have so much potential, and thank you for coming and trying out!
Thank you!
Sincerely. The Cheetah Girls.

Dear Bob,
I am writing to inform you that you have sadly not made the team.
While making our decision, we tested you all three times on speed. On average, your speed was the slowest at 0.71 m/s. In some trials your speed was excellent, it was just not very consistent. Earlier, we checked your diameter and mass. Your diameter was the largest at 105 cm, leading you to also have the biggest mass of 5.2 g.
We were looking for the fastest marbles, and your average speed ended up being just a bit lower than the others. Sometimes else was consistency. You were able to have the best speed in one trial of 1.21 seconds per 1 meter, but your other two were slower by a lot. Since your mass was 5.2 g we concluded that it would slow you down because it affects how quickly you could move.
Thank you for your time,

Dear, Mama Coco
We are very sorry to inform you that you have been cut from the Golden State Chihuahua, The data we have collected from every marble that audition to join in the golden state chihuahua shows that you had the slowest speed and had the most mass. chorizo had the average speed of 1.62 and a mass of 5.3 and Alex had the average speed of 1.55 and a mass of 5.8 while you had the average speed of 1.63 and a mass of 5.9. We are looking for marbles that have a average of 1.60 below and marbles with a mass of 5.8 and below. with all the data we collected, we are sorry to say that you have been cut from the golden state chihuahua.

Dear Mr. Forest,
The writing of this letter marks the end of a challenging and difficult process; the admission for being part of the team Iconics. The team members of Iconics (including me) have carefully analyzed, evaluated, and discussed your application, and I'm writing to inform you that we are not able to offer you a place on our team.
To convey my regrets, or to wish you success in your career may seem shallow at best, particularly given the time and discussed your application. It is very important, however, that you understand that we questioned your ability on the ramp, your speed, and your size. Taking that into account your speed was the lowest, 1.37 m/s whereas the other participants had higher speeds.
Our decision reflects the fact that limited number of admission in our team. Your speed was the slowest and we need faster marbles. Once again thank you in your interest in our team Iconics.

Dear Obtuse Doe,
We are sorry to say that we have to cut you off the team. We enjoyed your time with us but we have to let you go. There are some reasons for the so please don´t think that we are kicking because we did´t like you, we really loved your time with us but sadly we can only have two racers and you have sadly not been chosen to race with us this year.
We have your racing data here with us so I´ll be showing you your timing. Your speed was the lowest out of Sapphire and Indigo. On the first run your speed was only 2.03, then on your second run your speed was 1.62! Finally on your last run your speed was 1.11. At first we were really impressed but when we saw your over all speed it was 0.63 while the others were below that. We also saw that you´d get to distracted to easily and wouldn´t focus on what we were training. Something else was that you´d get to tired to easily and wee need strong and tough people who don´t get tired as easily.
For these reasons we are cutting you off the team. We need racers that don´t get tired easily and who pay very close attention. We need racers who are quick and can pass all the other racers. Once agian we are sorry for this but we thank you for at least trying to race with us. We´d love to see you again next year.

Dear Aqua,
Unfortunately we have decided to cut you from team Cheetah Girls.
You were the slowest of the marbles, with a speed of 0.69 m/s. But do not be discouraged because your mass was 5.6 grams making you the second highest marble in the mass ranking. Your fastest try going down the ramp was an impressive 1.17 seconds, yet slowest being 1.63. But sadly all three tries averaged out to 1.44 seconds, putting you at the slowest.
The team needs fast marbles, along with large marbles. Your speed wasn't the fastest but you definitely had an impressive mass. Your trial runs were not as consistent as we needed them to be but there was no lack of effort on your part.
We wish you all the best on your future races.
Dear Peter,
Unfortunately you cannot continue with the Golden Kats in the race due to the data we collected from your speed test, mass, and diameter.
You came in last in the speed test against Bob and Jerry.
Bob and Jerry scored a higher speed than you, so you came in last place. Now that we have all our data it shows that your mass and your diameter is higher. For your speed test it was 1.71 and so due to that you came in last. And on your mass 6.7 and you need to be atleast be 4,0 something like that. So due to this data we have recorded we have now made are decision that you were cut from the team.
So due to all of the data, that you were last in every single one.
Thank You for trying out Peter.

Dear, Bob
I am truly sorry that we have to cut you off this was a very hard decision. We will miss you very very much. Hopefully next time we can pick you again. You were a really cute and tiny marble. You were my favorite (don't tell Kevin and Stuart). The reason why we had to cut you off is because you were the slowest. It was between you and Kevin sadly we picked you. Only by like 2 secs slower we had to cut you off. Once again I am truly sorry we had to cut you off because you were the slowest. See you another race!
Thank you for trying, I wish you the best,

Dear Robort,
This paper was sent to you by Jimmy Marble Race on February 11, 2022, and will have the information about your tryout in the team.
Jimmy Marble Race and judges have recorded your points and all the skills that you have shown at tryouts.
Jimmy Marble Racing and all the judges at the tryout decided to grade your work together and agree if they should cut or keep you in the team, and after many disagreements and agreements, they have made their final decisions. Jimmy Marble Racing and the judges decided...
to cut you off the team.
"Robort did well at the tryouts..." said judge 1. " it just that there were a lot of things that gave the team some disadvantages and we needed someone who won't slow down the team." "We needed to have someone who had a great chance of winning in the competition and had the expectations that we looked for." So Jimmy Marble Racing has decided to show you all the things you've done wrong and show you what they expected to see from the right person.
They are listed below:
1. weight - your weight wasn't that bad and we could've kept you on the team, but it's not what we're looking for.
2. speed - your speed wasn't that bad and it was pretty great but we needed someone with an average speed of 1 second.
3. Average speed - your average speed was decent but it was hight than what we wanted.
Jimmy Marble Racing is glad to have you support us and have you try out on the team and would love for you to support us next time. It was a pleasure having you try out and see if you would've made it into the team. your support has meant so much to us and hopes that you'll continue to support us in the future.
Thank you.
From J.M.R ( Jimmy Marble Racing )
