At Rochester Community Schools, we are committed to empowering our students with the necessary skills and knowledge required to navigate their future career paths confidently. We believe that career readiness is not a destination but an ongoing journey of self-discovery and growth that begins from a young age and continues through adulthood.
Our mission is to prepare our students for the challenges and opportunities of the 21st-century job market. This journey begins in elementary school where we aim to inspire our students with the boundless possibilities their futures hold. In middle school, we provide resources and guidance to explore various career paths and industries. High school is the stage of integration where we help students understand the connections between their academic experiences and potential career opportunities.
Our vision for Elementary Career Readiness is to inspire our students to follow and explore their interests and passions. Students will be exposed to opportunities and experiences in all six of the career pathways, while discovering careers through game like career town activities and missions on Xello.
Our vision for the middle school level is to provide a space for students to explore careers within their interests, this is a time for students to see if they are truly interested in pursuing certain careers. We integrate Pathful Connect into our middle school career readiness program by giving students opportunities to explore real-world careers through virtual guest speakers, interactive sessions, and curated resources that connect classroom learning to future pathways.
As students enter high school it is their time to embed new skills and experiences into their courses and extracurricular activities. Students will be exposed to opportunities through their CTE courses, the job board below, and receive insight on what courses to take based on their career goals using the Career Pathway Plan of Study.
