- Start with what you already know. Don't try something new on the first day.
- Address student's social and emotional needs by having frequent check-ins and video chats.
- Reduce the workload by at least half
- Create opportunities for synchronous meetings
- Share instruction/teaching asynchronously
- Deadlines should be very flexible
- When possible, provide individual feedback to students
- Create as many offline opportunities as possible
- Provide very clear instructions.
- The instruction should be designed to allow students to be self sufficient learners.
- Parents are support not the teacher. You are the teacher.
- When designing instruction always remember that students’ schedules and environment are different from the regular classroom.
- Be aware of how you are dressed and what is behind you when using video chat or recording video
