Complete the board and science notes of all of the process.
What is a testable question?
When starting you need a "test"able question, not just a question. A testable question includes your variables and how you can measure it.
This is the whole point to your experiment. You are testing with trials and reporting the results/data.
Examples of a testable question
You can take a simple question and turn it into a testable question.
How far will the car travel by using different ramps? This is just a question.
For example:
Does (independent variable: what will I change) AFFECT (dependent variable: what will I measure)?
Does changing the height of the ramp affect how far the car will travel?
My hypothesis: If I have a height of 12 inches, I think the car will travel 14 inches.
(Use your Independent variable in your hypothesis, by using clear measurements)
A hypothesis is just an educated guess based on what you are trying to test. This is why a testable question is so important because it leads your entire Science Fair project.
I could test 3 different heights 3 trials and graph my distance for each trial. Whatever I choose for my heights, I would keep those constant for each trial.
Height 1: 4 inches-3 trials
Height 2 6 inches-3 trials
Height 3 12 inches-3 trials
