At RCHK, we believe that every young person should experience the world beyond the classroom. Emb@RC Week is a programme that encourages “hands-on” or experiential learning, accompanied by our staff and other trained professionals. To foster learning and personal growth, we collapse the curriculum for MYP and DP students for a week, providing them with the chance to engage in novel and demanding activities. This concentrated timeframe encourages them to embrace new challenges, broaden their worldview, and cultivate essential skills through adventure and exploration.
Please note that EMB@RC Week is a compulsory part of education at Renaissance College, therefore, it is expected that all students attend the entirety of the week.
Aims of Emb@RC Week:
Encourage independence and promote organisation
Develop teamwork and collaboration skills
Challenge students and promote safe risk-taking
Discover an appreciation for the world and the environment
Inspire gratitude and foster resilience

2026, where will you choose to go?
All trips we offer are designed to encourage students to digitally detox, engage fully, and be active. These experiences help develop stronger friendships, foster presence in the moment, and promote personal growth. We want students to immerse themselves in activities and adventures, creating fantastic memories and bonds with their peers, unburdened by technology.
While mobile phones are not always prohibited, we and the providers, ask students to ensure they are not used during Emb@RC week. For some trips, phones may be collected by staff for part of/the whole day, or students may be asked to leave phones at home.
Please note that phones are not to be used for emergency contact with parents. In the unlikely event of an emergency, RCHK staff chaperoning the trip will handle communication with parents.
Please explore the pdf document on the left, for further information about Emb@RC week 2026. This includes an overview of the trips on offer for each year group and guidance for the selection process.
Please note that trips are not assigned on a first come first serve basis. All students will need to write a citation to advocate for their inclusion on their preferred trip.
