Carpe Diem will solely focus on developing Brazilian Jiu Jitsu techniques.
Itinerary (subject to change):
Day 1 - Introduction to BJJ Fundamentals
Cover fundamental positions (guard, mount, side control and back control) and associated escapes and sweeps. Practice in pairs, alternating attacher and defender roles. Emphasis on light controlled positional sparring to apply techniques effectively.
Day 2 - Guard Attacks and Defense
Cover basic guard attacks (armbar, triangle choke, kimura) and guard retention /defense techniques. Practice in pairs, alternating roles. Encourage light, controlled sparring from the guard position to apply techniques effectively.
Day 3 - Top Position Control and Transitions
Teach mount and side control, transitions, and submissions. Practice transitions, emphasizing control and submissions. Encourage light, controlled positional sparring from the top positions.
Day 4 - Escapes and Sweeps from Bottom Positions
Cover basic escapes and sweeps from mount, side control, and back control. Practice in pairs, alternating roles. Encourage light, controlled sparring from bottom positions to refine escapes and sweeps.
Day 5 - Self-Defense Techniques
Focus on basic self-defense techniques, including headlock escapes, wrist grab releases, and striking defenses. Practice in pairs, emphasizing proper execution and understanding. Use controlled scenarios for students to apply the techniques in self-defense situations.
