Here at the RCDSB, we are committed to strengthening our relationship with local Indigenous community members to enhance our delivery of educational programs and services. Ensuring that First Nations, Métis and Inuit students have opportunities and resources to achieve academic success and personal well-being is a top priority.
Self-identification is a voluntary and personal choice for students and families, with no proof of ancestry required. All parents/guardians of First Nations, Métis and Inuit students, and students who are 18 years or older, have the right to self-identify.
If you wish to self-identify yourself or your child, but are unsure if you have done so already, please fill out the attached Self-Identification Form and return it to your school or ask your school office for a paper copy of the Self-Identification form.
