Contact venue (establish date, time frame, etc.). Try to avoid scheduling tournaments on Fridays to help reduce conflicts with other sporting activities (i.e., hockey & ringette tournaments). 

Contact the R.C.E.I.A.A President to notify him/her of tournament dates. (Fall tournaments should be organized within the first three weeks of school. Winter dates should be established at the beginning of January). Also, please contact the website administrators to update the tournament information and the event calendar.

Fax or e-mail tournament registration forms to all schools (examples can be provided upon request).

After the registration date, call all schools who have not yet responded to ensure that no one is missed. 

Tournament rules are posted on this website under the "Coaches" drop-down menu. Each sport has its own page in the drop-down menu that houses all important information pertaining to that sport. 

Fax or e-mail the tournament schedule to coaches. 

Make arrangements for referees, score keepers and volunteers if needed. You may contact each host school to check for student leadership organizations which may be interested in helping to run or organize your day.

Organize signage for tournament (set-up, score sheets, boundaries, washrooms…etc.)

Tournament prizes- banners for all R.C.E.I.A.A tournaments will be provided, including an overall banner for the top performing school at the badminton tournaments. Individual medals for badminton players will still be awarded. 

Please ensure the venue is relatively “clean” at the end of the tournament. At the beginning of the tournament, remind coaches that their players should always be supervised and they should never be roaming the high school halls at will. This will help to eliminate vandalism in washrooms and change-rooms, as well as disruptions to the high schools’ learning environment.
