Who can participate?
All RBUSD students in grades TK-12 are eligible to participate.
Where is the event taking place?
RBUSD's Invention Convention will take place at the student's respective school site. Please register here.
What is the timeline for all of the Invention Convention events this school year?
Week of February 9-12, 2026: Students compete at their site/district event.
End of February 2026: Students selected to represent RBUSD at the CA Invention Convention Southern Region; They will submit their inventions and materials for the CA event - deadline is TBD.
March TBD: CA Invention Convention Southern Region @El Camino College
June TBD: National Invention Convention
Can multiple students participate as a team ?
Yes, multiple students can work together on the same invention as a team. Up to 4 students max in the team is allowed. If students on the team are in different grade levels, the invention will be judged as part of the highest grade level represented on the team. (For example, if the team is made up of a 2nd grader and 4th grader, the invention will be judged in the 4th grade level competition.)
