On October 25th, 2024, a trick-or-treat event happened from 5 pm to 8 pm on Kirkwood Avenue, in Downtown Bloomington. Stores and a church were the ones handing out candy. Lots of people came including adults and kids. Walking from store to store, as well as going from block to block.

People went to downtown Bloomington at about 5 pm. The trick-or-treating event was from 5 pm to 8 pm and kids and adults went around the block trick-or-treating at each store. Having fun Halloween activities to do. Kids dressed as popular TV show characters roaming around the street with their parents, such as Bluey and My Little Pony characters.

The whole event was sponsored by Gather. Gather is a gift shop located at 116 North Walnut St. Ever since September, they have been working together to get other shops to help out with this. Employee Anna Halliday had the planning part all thought out. After all that planning, Halliday had over 12 businesses along with her.  “This year we have a really big turnout of people who wanted to be a part of a community and help celebrate it but also get their names out too,” Halliday stated. “We are really just about supporting other small local businesses in the area.” Halliday also feels similar to the rest.

Senior minister for First Christian Church, Kyrmen Ray has participated in this event for 3 years. “We decorate, wear costumes, and make sure we give candy and candy alternatives for kids who can't have candy,” Ray said. They could also step up to the church and grab something like a candy apple or a normal candy, as well as alternatives for them.
