Welcome to Reception and our Literacy area
This is where we will share with you all of what reception will be completing in literacy , you will be able to share in the story, learn the makaton signs and see some of the childrens work.
For now we wanted to share with you some of our favourite stories that we enjoy.
This is a short video explaining about tales toolkit and how it is used in early years.
This week Reception have been reading the story 'Monkey Puzzle' by Julia Donaldson. They have been writing as though they are the monkey and are speaking to the butterfly. Reception have enjoyed reading this story together we hope you enjoy it at home.
Helicopter stories is a great way to engage reading and story telling with your child. We use this as a whole class as well as small groups in school to help develop children's confidence in their own story telling and also developing their Expressive arts skills.
