Welcome to Reception and our Literacy area
This is where we will share with you all of what reception will be completing in literacy , you will be able to share in the story, learn the makaton signs and see some of the childrens work.
For now we wanted to share with you some of our favourite stories that we enjoy.
This week we have started our new literacy topic of Yucky Worms. The children have been listening to story and learning fun facts about worms.
This is a short video explaining about tales toolkit and how it is used in early years.
Helicopter stories is a great way to engage reading and story telling with your child. We use this as a whole class as well as small groups in school to help develop children's confidence in their own story telling and also developing their Expressive arts skills.
The children have continued to make their display on The Very Hungry Caterpillar. Each group wrote about what the caterpillar is eating using alliteration to describe the food last week.
This week the children will be writing wow words to describe the different stages of the life cycle, such as magnificent, beautiful, colourful, vibrant.
