Welcome to Reception and our Literacy area
This is where we will share with you all of what reception will be completing in literacy , you will be able to share in the story, learn the makaton signs and see some of the childrens work.
For now we wanted to share with you some of our favourite stories that we enjoy.
Reception have been listening to the story The Owl Who is Afraid of the Dark as part of their literacy. They have created their own endings for how to help the owl.
Helicopter stories is a great way to engage reading and story telling with your child. We use this as a whole class as well as small groups in school to help develop children's confidence in their own story telling and also developing their Expressive arts skills.
This is a short video explaining about tales toolkit and how it is used in early years.
Reception have been working hard on their independant activities all linked with their early years curriculum. We have incorporated fine motor skills, role play, pre writing shapes and phonics to assist the children in their learning.
