Welcome to Reception and our Literacy area
This is where we will share with you all of what reception will be completing in literacy , you will be able to share in the story, learn the makaton signs and see some of the childrens work.
For now we wanted to share with you some of our favourite stories that we enjoy.
Reception are reading The Emperors Egg written by Martin Jenkins. This is the book we are using with our literacy writing for the next two weeks.
Reception are learning about all the different parts of a penguin and then going on to either write their own story about a penguin or make a fact book about penguins.
We hope you enjoy listening with your child at home. :)
This is a short video explaining about tales toolkit and how it is used in early years.
Helicopter stories is a great way to engage reading and story telling with your child. We use this as a whole class as well as small groups in school to help develop children's confidence in their own story telling and also developing their Expressive arts skills.
