March is Brain Injury Awareness Month, created to recognize those who have incredible strength to fight a brain tragedy. Brain injuries are the leading cause of disability, and fatalities. March promotes awareness, and breaks the stigmas like negative public attitudes, social isolation, and personal insecurities.
Breaking the stigma of having a neurological injury is one of the most crucial parts of recovering, giving people the confidence to adapt and thrive. Therefore education is an important role so the public can understand further. Giving sympathy to survivors, and the support they need. The more education the public has about brain health, the more support we can give to the humans fighting.
Every year, 2.5 million people go through serious brain trauma, and over 5.3 million Americans currently are living with them. Always remember, brain injuries are sudden and can happen to anyone. While some only sustain a concussion, others lose crucial life skills.
Although there are many types of brain injuries, making the topic complex. One thing they all have in common would be they all thrive with empathy, kindness, and understanding. Understanding that brain injury is serious, as a community we should come together, and break the stigma.
March is Pisces! This water sign is most known for its deep intuition, empathy, artistic ability, compassion, and even its dreamy nature. You might see this sign symbolized by two fish, known as Pisceans, who navigate between reality and fantasy. Pisces are found to fall hard and fast, seeking deep, soulmate connections, devoting themselves to that partner. They find themselves being an empathetic listener, always ready to offer a non-judgemental shoulder to cry on. Unfortunately they can be too trusting or even gullible, leading them to be taken advantage of. They are also prone to sadness, self-pity and taking things too personally. Pisces are seen to be most compatible with Scorpios, Cancers, Taurus’, and Capricorn, all of these signs being a supporting figure for them whether it be emotional understanding or the grounding they need.

American Girl dolls are more than just toys; they're a reflection of American history through the eyes of young girls. Each doll comes with a unique story set in a different period, offering insights into the lives and experiences of girls and women throughout history. From Felicity Merriman in 1770s colonial America to Addy Walker escaping slavery during the Civil War, these dolls bring historical moments to life. These stories highlight the challenges and triumphs of women in different eras, showcasing their resilience, courage, and contributions to society. By engaging with these characters, young girls can learn about the struggles for equality and the progress that has been made over time. The dolls and their narratives serve as a reminder of the strength and determination of women throughout American history. Through American Girl, young girls and boys are encouraged to imagine themselves as agents of change, inspired by the historical figures they encounter. The dolls provide a tangible connection to the past, fostering empathy and understanding. They celebrate the diverse experiences of women and girls, promoting a more inclusive and representative view of history.
As spring comes in Ohio you would think it would become warmer, but recently shifting weather has made snow drop down. Sudden switching of warm and cold weather forces animals that hibernate to wake up earlier, requiring more energy and food. This harms wildlife as it damages vegetation, animal cycles, and migrating animals. As the local plants grow in because of the warm weather, the cold weather within a few days kills vegetation. Further breaking the food cycle, and as the animals assume they can come out of hibernation or migration, they will have nothing to eat. Ultimately, Ohio's alternating weather has tremendous negative effects on its wildlife, damaging animals, and vegetation.

This month's unusual app is “Is It Dark Outside?” Have you ever been holed up playing video games and find yourself unsure of it being day or night, but the game just can't wait so you find yourself in a predicament. Then this app is just for you! It will tell you if the sun is still there or not. It connects with the weather forecasting of your area through the location of your phone and then tells you when the sun sets or rises.

Did you know that spring is a season of dramatic and rapid change, this is the one season in which you can witness unique animal behavior such as the increased bird vocalization for mating, and even the worm moon, arising due to oxygen starved soil. Other unique events that take place are the fastest sunsets of the year and the peak of tornado season. More interesting animal behavior includes honeybees, you are more likely to witness a honeybee swarm in the spring, since it is the time for them to find a perfect location for their hive.
Mr. Leonhardt
Mr. Leonhardt has been teaching for 11 years but he had two years of tutoring before that. When asked why he moved to the Ravenna school district, he said that he had heard Ravenna was similar to where he was and had heard good things.
I then asked him what is your favorite part about working in Ravenna schools? "I think everyone is very helpful and friendly, and there are a lot of resources. I like getting to know the students and helping them grow."
I also asked Mr. Leonhardt what he likes to do in his free time. His response was that he likes to spend time with his three children, play the guitar and watch TV.
Another question I asked him was if he could go on a trip with no expense, where would he go and what would he do there? Mr. Leonhardt said that he would go to Toyoko, he was born there, but doesn't remember because he was adopted as a baby.
In my final question I asked him what inspired him to become a teacher. He said, “ I wanted to become a teacher because I wanted to help as many people as I could. I grew up with friends and relatives with special needs and felt I would be good at it.”
