Rube Goldberg Machines

Grade 4

Students in Grade 4 were tasked with creating a Rube Goldberg machine that rings a bell. Using their knowledge of types of potential and kinetic energy, groups sketched designs and then used recycled and found materials to build their  machines. This lesson has been a part of the Grade 4 Science curriculum for a few years and this is the first time it took place in the Kol-lab. With more resources, tools, and space, students were better able to implement their ideas than ever before.
