Kia kaha e hoa mā!

  1. Make a grid out of masking tape.

  2. Use play dough to make a waka, land, octopus and 8 tentacles.

  3. Place the waka at the first square of the grid, the whenua on the other side.

  4. Place the octopus and its tentacles randomly throughout the grid.

Your mission is to guide the waka through the grid without touching the tentacles using simple instuctions (as shown in the gif). If you want to play with more than one person you can have a race to see who can find the shortest path, or the second played could be the tentacles of the wheke taking turns to see if the waka will get caught.
