Smith Scoop

Welcome to the Smith Scoop! This year, we decided to go digital! We combined our talents and merged S.A.L.T. and our older version of the Smithsonian newspaper to create something unique.

Our team of writers, photographers and artists worked diligently to create our first edition of Smith Scoop! We are so excited to share it with you! We hope you enjoy it!

We would also like to take this time to thank the Ramsey Public Education Foundation (RPEF) for their continued support in helping to enhance the student experience.

Carissa

I love art and basketball. My favorite mediums in art are oil painting, sketching, charcoal, and colored pencils.

Anthony

I love skiing in Killington Vermont. I also love photography.

Amanda

I like to paint and ski. When I’m older, I would love to go into journalism.

Evelyn

I love snowboarding and soccer. One of my hobbies is taking artsy pictures on my sister’s Polaroid camera.

Monet

I like reading, video games, and music. I have a cat named Coco. I also won the school-wide spelling bee.

Lauren

I like to play field hockey. I have two cats and love to play with them. I also like to write memoirs about my cats.

Abigail

Art is my specialty! I love all dogs especially my dog Duke! In my free time you can catch me ether drawing or watching YouTube.

Kelly

I like to play soccer and field hockey. I am also I am in band and play the flute. My favorite books to read are graphic novels.

In my own time, I love reading books and I enjoy watching videos from my favorite influencers. Also, I am on the rock climbing team for Gravity Vault.

I love video games and music. In my free time I like to read, or watch T.V. My absolute favorite thing to do, though, is to read from my DC Encyclopedia.

Maddy

I like to play lots of sports. My life consists of lots of soccer. Some of the sports that I like to play are soccer, basketball, and tennis. My favorite colors are blue and orange.

I love to play soccer and hang out with my friends. I have a dog who is a miniature poodle. My favorite hobby is is probably playing on my phone

Jack

I like to play sports like baseball and basketball. My favorite movie is JAWS, I like Drawing and painting when or if I have time.

Reyva

I love basketball and painting. I also love to sing, play clarinet, read, and eat food! My favorite color is pink, and I love anything with rainbows!

Lily

I love to play sports like soccer, basketball, and tennis. I also love to draw and paint. Other things I also like to sing and act.

Amber

I love to draw, take pictures, and sing. I don’t play sports but I like to swim. One of my favorite subjects in school is French. I also like to journal and decorate.

I love soccer, drawing, photography. When I am older I would want to be a fashion designer or an interior designer.

I love sports. My favorite is soccer, however I also enjoy playing basketball and softball. I also like drawing, reading, acting, and singing.

I like to draw, paint, and play video games like Smash.

Some of the sports I love to play are soccer,and basketball. My favorite things to do in art are, sketching, painting , such as oil painting and colored pencils. I love writing fictional pieces and newsletters.

I am obsessed with drawing, writing, animals, soccer, and a bunch of other things. I have a 3-year-old chocolate Labrador retriever who loves to lick people and is the cutest thing.

Francis

I like to write about interesting topics which challenge me as a writer. I also like to run track and field and play video games.

I love sports and to take pictures of landscape and nature.

Sarah

I play the ukulele, clarinet, and I love to listen to music I tend to enjoy writing fictional pieces or poetry rather than informational pieces and often write about issues in our current society that I believe need a voice.

I love to sing, act, and dance. My favorite subject in school is English. I love to write. In the winter, I love to ski and go sledding. I love spending time with my family and friends.

I enjoy singing, dancing, and especially love drawing! I’m in a singing company outside of school, and I love writing any type of poem! I also like travelling, and a lot of the places I’ve visited, have inspired my poems.

I like to play lacrosse and soccer. In the winter I ski, and in the summer I surf. I really like to draw and paint, too. One of my favorite vacations is going on a Disney Cruise and going to Disney World.
